In memory of

The following people have gone on before us each one of them was known in some way to us, either as a great friend or an acquaintance we just met. They will be sadly missed and remembered by all:-

Colin Tubbs Derreenascobe, Killawalla, Wesport, Ireland
who passed away on the 16th August 2011

Colin Tubbs Colin Tubbs was the founder and chairman of the Mayo COPD Support Group. Through his hard work and determination the Mayo COPD Support Group was created. He had a great vision for the Support Group and was always working hard to create awareness for COPD throughout Ireland.
Colin was originally from England and retired to Ireland in September 2004 with his wife Lyn. In 2008 Colin was diagnosed with COPD and this forced many changes to his life, he had to give up two of his life long passions, gardening and Wood Work. Colin was a very talented Cabinet Maker and loved making Kitchens for his own home, and others.
Colin will be dearly missed by his Wife Lyn, Children Richard and Marie and all of his family, friends and members of the Mayo COPD Support Group. May he now rest in Peace.

Jimmy Sherridan McDermott Street, Ballina, Co Mayo who passed away January 2011
We will always remember Jimmy as the nice friendly man,  not only was he a much loved man by his wife and family but he was well thought of as  a member of the Mayo COPD Support Group and all that new him spoke highly of him as a friendly chap and that he truly was, I will recall how pleased he was to receive the groups newsletter and information and he was so grateful to get this even when he was unable to make our meetings, in his home town of Ballina he seemed to know everyone and they all knew him.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to his wife Mary and his family at this difficult time and in the future, he will be greatly missed by all, may his gentle sole rest in peace.

David McDonnell Lahardane, Ballina Co Mayo who passed away in January 2011

It is with great regret that we have to make this entry and say good bye to a another member of our own Support Group as not only was he a member but also a very good friend of our Chairman Colin Tubbs since they first met at rehab classes in May 2009. David passed away on the 19th January 2011 our thoughts go to his wife and family at this time, he will be sadly missed, may he now rest in peace.

Kevin Moran Breaffy, Castlebar Co Mayo who passed away in October 2010

Mick Lally Tourmakedy Co Mayo who passed away in 2010
We remember Mick Lally a native of Tourmakeady,  Co Mayo he was a truly remarkable actor and a gentleman of our time and will be most well known for his many performances on stage and on television in such programmes as Glenroe in which he played Miley Byrne the Wicklow farmer and later in the BBC series Ballykissangel. He was a great promoter of all things Irish including Music, The Theatre and the Irish language. His passing sent sadness across Ireland but no more so than in his native Tourmakeady were only in July of 2010 he attended a book launch and at which Traditional Irish Music was played an event he would remember well he is fondly remembered  may he rest in peace.
