Hello to all our members and readers I hope this finds you all keeping well especially in times as they are and with all the winter around us, it is time perhaps to look forward to next year and our forthcoming events, although nothing has been finalised at present we are aiming to put on several events next year, and below  I have listed a few items for you to watch for.

  1. On the 29th May 2011 we are organising a day trip to "The Shannon" for a River Cruise, included in the trip is a visit to Strokes Town House and Famin Museum, the trip will finish off with a meal at Roscommon at the Hannons Hotel. For further details please contact our chairman, Colin Tubbs, using our contact page.
  1. In May we are entering the West of Ireland mini-marathon and would be grateful for as many as possible to join us to help raise sponsorship, if you are interested in running with us in the marathon please contact us and we will register you for the marathon and can send you the sponsorship forms. For more details on the marathon visit the official website, www.westofirelandwomensminimarathon.com, you can also view pictures from our members who competed in last years marathon here.
  1. Last July we held a Traditional Irish Night and it is hoped to repeat this as it was most successful and enjoyed before.
  1. The National COPD Awareness Week is being held on week commencing the 20th June and lasts until the 26th June 2011.

Other events will be forthcoming so just keep watching this space as those who have been will tell you they are always great fun so there is no reason that next year should not be just as good and you never know we may even exceed this year’s events.

With winter here look after yourselves, keep warm and don’t forget to call in on the elderly neighbours to make sure they are okay
All the very best wishes
Colin Tubbs
